BRIEF HISTORY
Churches working together to further the Great Commission of spreading the Gospel of Salvation to ALL.
The Chickahominy Baptist Association was organized in 1907 at Springfield Baptist Church. Sam Mitchell Washington headed up the movement assisted by Rev. John L. Brown and Reverend Samuel Allen who suggested the name.
The first officers were: Reverend Mitchell Washington, Moderator, Reverend J. L. Brown, Vice Moderator, Deacon Richard H. Tinsley, Secretary and John H. Crockett, Treasurer.
The Executive Board Members consisted of the following members: Deacon Samuel H. Hill, Phillip H. Dandridge, Harvey Yates, William Randolph, Thomas J. Bolling, and William H. Morton.
The Charter Churches were: Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, First Union Baptist Church, Zion Hill Baptist Church, Second Union Baptist Church, Nazarene Baptist Church, and Pottomoi Baptist Church
MISSION STATEMENT
This is the mission and vision of The Chickahominy Baptist Association as articulated by Moderator, Revered Dr. R. Neal Siler, August 2002.
The mission of Chickahominy Baptist Association is to be an association of Churches working together to further our Great Commission efforts of spreading the Gospel of Salvation and to building a relationship of fellowship and support among our member Churches.
